Both cities are located only miles from the Edwards Air Force base, and are among some of the lowest unemployment rated cities in the Antelope Valley. This can be attributed to the fact Edward Air Force Base employs more than 200,000 people and has an annual payroll of $500 million, making it one of the largest employers in the Antelope Valley. Commercial growth is already on the rise, as shopping centers are built attracting big developers to build new and upcoming housing developments. Schools have already been developed. Rosamond is home to elementary, middle, high school and colleges enticing the interest of many who are just growing their families.
